Building Community & Inspiration
Our Principal Consultant, Kate Walser, was a Jesuit Volunteer after college and keeps CX Insights committed to the larger community, both locally and globally. Besides giving people a more optimistic outlook through easier-to-use and more engaging software and Web sites, we give back through participation in local user experience focused organizations as well as non-profits focused on making a difference.
Some of our favorites are included below.
User Experience and Interaction Design Groups
CX Insights is an active supporter and participant in international and local user experience and interaction design groups including:
- Center for Plain Language
- Usability Professionals' Association (UPA)
- Interaction Designers' Association (IXDA)
- Special Interest Group Computer-Human Interaction (SIGCHI)
- Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS)
Kate serves on the board of the Center for Plain Language, advocating and promoting plain language legislation and best practices. She served as the Vice President of the local UPA-DC chapter from 2008-2010, promoting education and opportunities for people interested in usability and user experience careers. She actively works to identify topics of interest to local groups like UPA-DC, IXDA-DC and others, identify great speakers, and promote events and resources to the group.
